Dr. Aisha Johnson grew up in the Dallas, Texas area. Dr. Johnson graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Houston Baptist University. Dr. Johnson received multiple letters of Clinical Excellence as a student clinician at UHCO. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honors Society for all four years of optometry school. She is also a three-time award recipient of the UH Black Alumni Association's McDonald Scholarship which is awarded to students of the natural sciences, mathematics or optometry college exhibiting outstanding academic performance and achievement in campus and/or community leadership roles.
Dr. Johnson enjoys seeing patients of all ages and providing primary eye care, with an emphasis on ocular disease. She spent several years practicing in Kansas and in the Houston area before moving to the Waco area. When Dr. Johnson is away from the office, she is enjoying every moment as a busy mommy of two little ones. She also enjoys her role as a co-founder of a community based non-profit organization for student athletes that aims to provide mentorship, community awareness, nourishing meals, and scholarship support to those in need. Dr. Johnson loves traveling, Starbucks, family time, and cheering on her favorite sports teams (Go Bears!). Dr. Johnson, her husband “Coach Juice”, and their sons are excited to call Waco home.
